What We Rebuild explores how immigration can fracture the life we once understood and rearrange it into something unfamiliar. Through fluid-paint pouring, black, white, turquoise, blue and violet collide, separate and flow into new formations.
The marbled movement reflects the confusion of adapting to a different world. Metallic gold lines are applied across the shifting colours, connecting the fragments rather than concealing them. What initially appears broken begins to reveal a new structure.
The work suggests that transformation does not require us to return to who we were before. Like the painting, we can be reorganised by change and become whole in a different form, carrying both homes within us.

Lo que reconstruimos explora cómo la inmigración puede fragmentar la vida que alguna vez comprendimos y reorganizarla de una manera desconocida. Mediante el vertido de pintura fluida, el negro, el blanco, el turquesa, el azul y el violeta chocan, se separan y fluyen hasta crear nuevas formaciones.
El movimiento marmoleado refleja la confusión de adaptarse a un mundo diferente. Sobre los colores cambiantes se aplican líneas doradas metalizadas, que conectan los fragmentos en lugar de esconderlos. Lo que inicialmente parece roto comienza a revelar una nueva estructura.
La obra propone que la transformación no exige volver a ser quienes éramos antes. Al igual que la pintura, podemos ser reorganizados por el cambio y volver a sentirnos completos bajo una forma diferente, llevando ambos hogares dentro de nosotros.
